Viticulture in the sixth generation
Tradition and years of experience
„We are certainly the sixth generation to make wine on our farm,“ says Martin Tanner, who runs Tanner Weine, proudly. For him, it is a wonderful job and a privilege to be able to take over such a business from his parents. He also greatly appreciates the fact that three generations are currently working on the business.
Incidentally, the first award for a wine from this vineyard dates back to 1898, which makes the current owner all the more proud.
Family business with a history
Tanner Weine has been in existence for many decades. A small family business where everything from the vine to the finished wine is made in-house. This is a source of pride, especially when the wine is well received at a tasting.
What do you enjoy most about your tasks?
What I appreciate most is the variety and working with nature. We not only work in the vines and in the wine cellar, but also often have direct contact with our customers, which I always appreciate.
What are you particularly proud of in your company?
We are always delighted when our wines are well received by our customers or at a tasting. We are also very proud that our business has existed for so long, which is also a sign that we take care of the land and nature so that the next generation can live off it.
What do you pay particular attention to in viticulture?
It is particularly important to me that the wines reflect the vintage year. This means that they are sometimes light and fruity and other times strong and full-bodied – just like the year of the vines. We work very close to nature.
What are the biggest challenges in your company?
The weather can be a major challenge for viticulture. For us as a small business, the administrative effort is sometimes also a challenge, but one that we are happy to take on.

At Restaurant s’nani you can enjoy the Blanc de Noir from Tanner Weine.
Why do the two companies fit together?
Because s’nani stands for local products of the best quality and we are therefore delighted to be a partner of this concept.
And by the way…
The s’nani team regularly visits its partners and suppliers to find out exactly where the products at s’nani come from and how they are processed.
